Tokyo, Japan!!!!

We were supposed to go to Japan with my parents at the end of 2020…………… well we all know how that went.

It took a few years but we finally made it. While there I was given the opportunity to take a private lesson with the legend Yuki Nakai. For those of you who doesn't know who he is, he was in the documentary “choke”. In one of his matches, he got thumbed in the eye. He never regained sight in that eye. Currently, he is the head of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Japan. Of course this was all organized through Burton Richardson. Thank you again!!!

Willow and I were meet at our hotel by Kotaro and Tomo (JKDU students) and took us to the studio. We had a chance to sit with Nakai Sensei for a Q and A, We discussed his teaching style, where he feels Jiu jitsu was going and so much more. We both had the opportunity to train with him. Great rolls. So happy that Willow had the chance to train with him.

A few days later, I got to teach a knife defense class for Kotaro and some of his students. Great time, and had amazing pizza and beer afterwards. Looking forward to our next visit!!!!
